Coffee is one of the most widely consumed beverages in Malaysia, with the local market valued at over RM4 billion. A significant portion of every coffee bean ends up as spent coffee grounds (SCG), currently treated largely as waste.
In line with the MITI Circular Economy Policy Framework, REKAFFEE is committed to transitioning towards an industrial production model that is restorative and regenerative by design. We are a team of local Malaysian industrial experts — bringing together researchers from universities, brand owners, coffee bean specialists, resin compounders, and end-product converters across multiple technologies.
Beyond plastic alternatives, REKAFFEE also offers a sustainable replacement for flexible paper packaging such as burger wrappers and food wraps. Our coffee film is naturally water and oil-proof, eliminating the need for additional PE or wax coatings.
